PUBLIC CUPPING: AURUM SERIES AUCTION LOTS BY MONTE COPEY
When we find the finest coffees, the first impulse is to find the best ways to share them with you. This time it’s Monte Copey’s Auction Lots, the Aurum Series from Costa Rica, and our community’s in for a superb treat, because this rare coffee cupping is open to sign-ups for free!
Join us on Sunday, August 23, 3pm to 6pm to discover and explore 14 refined Monte Copey nanolots showcasing the flavor potential of an elusive Ethiopian accession ET-47, Costa Rica-grown Geisha, and elevated Yellow Bourbon grown and processed by the Navarro family, whose Washed Geisha was recognized at the 2025 Cup of Excellence as the Best Washed lot from the Tarrazu Region in 2025 and 4th in all of Costa Rica after years of expanding their estate and honing their craft in interpreting the land, weather, time, and variety to produce irreplicable coffees.
The Aurum Series Coffees, processed through four paradigms — Nocturne with cherries harvested during dark hours at temperatures below 15°, Prototype oriented to classic expressions of terroir, Golden Hour revealing Yellow Bourbon’s elegant dimensions, Rubicon bold and controlled experimentation for new flavor frontiers — give us a taste of cup profiles that result from intentional processing decisions that dial in every variable that matters down to the most delicate details that would bring out the coffees’ fullest expression.
A Sunday afternoon tasting superb coffees in the company of our fine community — sign up for priority at the cupping tables and see you on August 23!
This event is perfect for coffee professionals, baristas, roasters, café owners, and green coffee buyers, as well as coffee enthusiasts who are curious to learn more about Costa Rican coffees. Whether you’re looking to deepen your knowledge, refine your palate through cupping, everyone is welcome.
