Heritage Blooms in Small Doses
Mi Finquita: Seeds of What’s to Come
From small places come remarkable things — just like in Mi Finquita Coffee Farm, the estate of Ratibor Hartmann and Tessie Palacios de Hartmann.
Part of the renowned Hartmann lineage, Ratibor Jr. and Tessie carry forward a family legacy that has shaped Panamanian coffee since the early 1900s. With Mi Finquita, affectionately named “My Little Farm,” heritage becomes a living practice. They’re not only preserving what came before, but refining what comes next.
A fact that has earned them consistent recognition, including high placements at the 2022 and 2023 Best of Panama for their exceptional Geishas.
Our latest selection of Mi Finquita coffees is a showcase of this ongoing evolution. The Geisha Washed Wineglobe Lot 9325 follows with lifted florals of orange blossom and bergamot, unfolding into papaya, kumquat, and white grape. With deeper fruit tones, the Geisha Natural Wineglobe Lot 10325 carries notes of strawberry, floral honey, mandarin, and red grape. These coffees are fermented using wineglobes, where the round glass containers clarify the aromatic complexity of every lot. Each sip is a gastronomic experience unlike any other.
But they still have the classics. The Geisha Natural Lot 011225 opens with bright tangerine and berries, moving through strawberry and apple before settling into a gentle candy-like sweetness. Meanwhile, the Geisha Natural Lot 17125 closes the collection with vibrant tropical layers of pineapple, mandarin, peach, kiwi, and nectarine — a fitting expression of a palette that continues to grow.
One thing is sure: Mi Finquita hasn’t slowed down its explosive development. Now, we get to taste the ways they’ve kept growing together.
