New Beginnings, New Flavors

Aroma Nativo: Charting Colombian Coffee’s Possibilities

Every producer has a reason for beginning. For Aroma Nativo, it started with a desire to keep learning from the land and the people who work it.

The idea for Aroma Nativo first took shape while founder Luis Marcelino was living in Paris. Drawn to specialty coffee and inspired by his wife's ties to Colombia. As time passed, his fascination with coffee's possibilities only grew.

But Luis wasn't interested in following a predetermined path. Inspired by producers like Ninety Plus, he began exploring natural and experimental processing methods at a time when traditional washed coffees remained the standard. Through careful research, meticulous documentation, and countless small-batch trials, he developed the first non-traditional protocols that would become the foundation of Aroma Nativo.

Luis’s curiosity has earned Aroma Nativo recognition on some of coffee's biggest stages, most recently the 2024 World Barista Championship, where their lots helped secure 7th and 9th place finishes.

You can taste that pursuit of possibility in these latest releases. The Bourbon Aji 455 HH blends classic notes of mango and honey with exciting brown spice, while the Pink Bourbon 843 EFM layers familiar tropical warmth with black cherry and hibiscus.

With just the right touch of traditional and experimental fun, these two lots show how Colombian coffee is always capable of becoming something new. Enjoy the fruits of Aroma Nativo’s labor and innovation with us.
