Geishas Shaped by Fog and Forest

Finca Nuguo: Where Mist Gives Way to Flavor

Within Panama’s Renacimiento region, “bajaleque” — the fine mountain mist drifting through the rainforest — quietly tempers the landscape. It cools the air & gives Finca Nuguo’s Geishas their unmistakable voice.

Finca Nuguo took shape in 2006, when José Manuel Gallardo of Café Gallardo introduced Geisha to the highest area of his family’s land. The Gallardo story, however, began decades earlier in the 1960s, with Typica, Caturra, and Catuai planted under the same clouds.

Today, José Manuel continues that legacy in Finca Nuguo, staying closely involved in every stage of cultivation and processing. Annual production is small, just 300 to 1,000 kilograms, allowing natural growing conditions and carefully paced fermentations to unfold without urgency.

That quiet precision has earned Finca Nuguo steady recognition at the Best of Panama since 2021, including a 2025 victory that saw them place 3rd in Geisha Washed. It’s the same nuance you’ll find in their Geisha Honey Lot 827, where cool freshness opens with orange blossom aromatics and layers of papaya, pear, mandarin, and strawberry.
