Rediscovering Finca Inmaculada 🇨🇴

Rare Colombia-grown Sudan Rume & Geisha

Two summers ago, our home community from across the emirates gathered here in smiling Sharjah to welcome Jorge Castro of Inmaculada Coffee Farms who came to visit with a gracious treat: a comparative tasting of rare varieties Sudan Rume & Geisha, & the elusive & almost mystical, coffee species Eugenioides produced at his family’s legendary estate.

Inmaculada’s eminence in our world of coffee began with their Sudan Rume being showcased in Sasa Sestic’s 2015 World Barista Championship-winning routine. Meanwhile, Inmaculada Eugenioides figured in the victories of the 2021 World Brewers Cup Champion Matt Winton, as well as that of  the 2021 World Barista Champion Diego Campos and the 1st and 2nd runners up.

Expanding our coffee collection with an Inmaculada Sudan Rume Signature from the Holguin-Ramos family’s farm in Valle del Cauca — our first Sudan Rume from Colombia —  and Fellow Geisha Lot 921  grown by their Fellow Farms partners in Huila, calls back highlights of that summer afternoon.

Our showroom teemed with a vibrant representation of our diverse community. We had baristas, home brewers, green coffee buyers, roasters, and long-time roastery and academy regulars all leaning over the tables and trading impressions, with a lot staying for conversation long after the cupping was done.

Many from that afternoon have since been enriching our community with their own brand of get-togethers and creative coffee projects pursued in their personal style.

That experience of Inmaculada coffees is an Archers community core memory and these two coffees,  Sudan Rume Signature and Fellow Farms Geisha 921 carry a thread that connects us back to that day, the excitement of discovery, and the joy of savoring something exceptional through the finest coffees, made more special with great company.
